Immigration law changes very slowly, requiring an act of Congress. On the other hand, immigration regulations, which interpret and give procedural guidance in the implementation of the law, do not require an act of Congress and may change at any time, upon proper notice in the Federal Register. Immigration Service filing policies and procedures change, in one respect or another, almost daily, in one aspect or another. Local office filing and administration policies and procedures may vary from District Office to District Office, and from Service Center to Service Center across the United States.

In this fast-paced immigration law environment, what is true today may not apply tomorrow. It is imperative that any company or individual seeking U.S. Immigration benefits consult competent legal counsel for assistance through the maze of bureaucracy, law, regulations, policies and procedure. It is not safe to rely on yesterday's news, as what was true yesterday may not apply today. Mistakes can be costly and can even result in the denial of immigration benefits forever.
